Communing with God
1The mind is renewed through prayer, meditation, and cultivating a moment-to-moment awareness of God’s presence. Even the most well-ordered mind, if not spiritually illuminated, cannot fulfill our deepest needs and desires. It is essential to distinguish between needs and wants, for, as Malachi 3:10 teaches, the more we align with natural laws, the more we experience life’s goodness.
We are in this world for a divine purpose. Discovering our unique purpose enables us to move forward with direction and commitment toward our ultimate goal.
Prayer opens doors to deeper consciousness, allowing inner knowing to surface. It invites God’s activity into our lives, clarifying our path and removing doubt or confusion.
The energy flowing through the universe is the energy and essence of God. It is eternal, ever-changing in form. From formlessness, forms emerge and eventually transform radiant energy back into the formless field of consciousness. Understanding this truth eliminates the concept of limitations.
At the spirit level, we are one with the Infinite Field of God. At the soul level, we are one with the Universal Mind of God. Ignorance of this reality leads to shallow lives, missing the profound reason for our human existence.
Prayer establishes communion with God. When our prayers focus solely on personal requests, we risk missing the deeper connection. However, in communion with God, our prayers open up to God working with us and through us.
Grace, the transformative and redemptive activity of God, is the evolutionary flow of creativity leading us toward our ultimate good. In the Stream of Grace, doors open, revelations surface, and miracles occur.
Begin your meditation session with the prayer, “Father, reveal Yourself.” Continue until words fade, leaving only a yearning for God’s presence.
If unsure how to approach God, pray for the awareness of His Presence. With persistent prayer, you will undoubtedly experience God’s presence. Commune with God first, and it will guide you toward the right action.
We own nothing but have temporary use of things to fulfill our purpose. Clothing, food, cars, and housing are transient conveniences for wise use. We are merely stewards of the world’s resources.
Remember, “All things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive” (Matthew 21:22, John 15:7, Mark 11:23-24, 1 John 5:14-15).
Increase your awareness of God’s Reality and Presence by focusing your thoughts on Him in a loving and surrendered way. Let these thoughts permeate your daily activities, sleep, and waking moments. This practice reveals His support and influence in your life.
Affirm: “I am made in the image and likeness of God. All the qualities and capacities of God dwell within me. Everything in my mind, consciousness, and word is now in divine order. Thank you, Father-Mother God, for this understanding and realization. Thank you, God, for dwelling in me.”
God is a Being, not a person, with inclinations, not desires. In human terms, an inclination is a want. God wants you to prosper and be in health. 3 John 2 states, “Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers.” The key is that, at the soul level, we are complete and lack nothing. When soul influences fully extend into body and mind, we will actualize prosperity and health.
1 Corinthians 2:9 emphasizes loving God. To love God, we must know God. Appreciating His creation and loving our fellow man are initial steps. These actions clarify our perception and reveal God’s reality in our world. When ego surrenders, divine love awakens and flourishes. This pure love is the attracting force that liberates the soul from conflicts and entanglements.
The Power that runs through the universe is limitless. There are no impossible conditions, unsolvable problems, or unanswerable questions.
Pray until you experience an awareness of God’s presence, pray for specific results, pray until you have an inner conviction that your needs are met, and then be thankful and happy.
Bless others and celebrate their good fortune. Their success does not diminish yours. The opposite is true.
Give to life according to your guidance and ability. Everyone has something to share, whether goodwill, a kind word, a helping hand, or knowledge. Share generously and selflessly.
Tithing embodies the idea of using our earnings or resources to share life’s blessings with others and plan for the future. In essence, we are to wisely utilize our resources, demonstrating responsible thought and action. Life’s bounty is not for selfish use or waste.
Think big, not small. Be positive, not negative. Avoid people who would bring you down and poison your mind.

Though never sent, its meaning would take on a profound new significance following the passing of ‘Tólú. ↩︎
